Website, membership, service, and SMS terms and conditions
These terms apply to the Fathers for Equal Rights, Inc. (FER) website, memberships, member accounts, educational resources, Life Coaching appointments, donations, forms, and text-message program. By using a service or submitting a form, you agree to the terms that apply to that activity. If you do not agree, do not use or purchase that service.
Educational role and no legal representation
FER is a nonprofit educational and civil-rights organization. Website content, courses, forms, referrals, Life Coaching, and information provided by FER staff or volunteers are general educational information. They are not legal advice, legal representation, mental-health treatment, medical advice, or a substitute for a licensed professional who has reviewed your individual facts. Using this website or contacting FER does not create an attorney-client, therapist-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
Court rules and laws change and deadlines can be strict. You are responsible for checking current official sources and obtaining qualified legal, medical, or mental-health assistance when needed. Do not use this website, email, text messaging, or Life Coaching for an emergency.
Membership and accounts
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate information, complete the required application, and protect their sign-in details.
- Individual and Family memberships last one year from verified payment unless the checkout expressly states otherwise. A Family membership covers the applicant and legal spouse. Membership does not renew automatically unless FER presents a separate recurring-payment authorization and the member expressly approves it.
- Member accounts, membership numbers, protected courses, appointment links, and confidential materials are personal and may not be sold, transferred, publicly posted, or shared outside the covered membership.
- FER may suspend access reasonably needed to investigate payment reversal, account compromise, misuse, threats, unlawful conduct, or conduct that harms FER, its users, staff, or volunteers. Rights required by applicable law are not limited by these terms.
Payments, donations, and Life Coaching
PayPal processes payments. The exact membership or appointment price, format, length, timing, and any disclosed urgency or limited-availability adjustment are shown before payment approval and verified by FER’s server. A coaching request is not confirmed until FER verifies the payment and records the appointment. Phone and video appointment availability, pricing, and service windows may differ.
Life Coaching is an educational member service and does not guarantee a legal, court, personal, or financial outcome. Appointment access is limited to the confirmed participant and time. Any cancellation, rescheduling, or refund terms shown during checkout or in a written FER confirmation form part of these terms. A donation is not a purchase of legal services or a promise of a particular result.
Acceptable use, submissions, and outside resources
Do not attempt to bypass account or payment controls, disrupt the website, impersonate another person, upload malware, infringe rights, or submit unlawful, threatening, hateful, obscene, or knowingly false material. You are responsible for information you choose to submit. Public reviews require FER moderation and publication consent; private feedback is not published. Do not send highly sensitive records through public, review, or general-contact forms.
Links, directories, advertisements, and referrals may lead to independent organizations or professionals. FER does not control or guarantee their availability, advice, products, results, security, or privacy practices. Verify credentials and terms directly with the provider.
SMS appointment terms
Program name: FER Appointment Information. Fathers for Equal Rights, Inc. sends transactional texts about a member’s requested Life Coaching appointment, including confirmation, a 24-hour reminder when applicable, and a 15-minute reminder. FER does not use this program for marketing. Message frequency varies and is typically no more than three automated messages per booked appointment, plus a response needed to handle a member request or appointment change.
- Opt-in: During booking, choose Yes to receive appointment information at the number you provide. The choice is optional, is not preselected, and is not a condition of membership, purchase, or service. Choose No to receive appointment information through email and the member account instead.
- Opt-out: Reply STOP to cancel text messages. FER will honor the opt-out and will not send additional texts unless you later send START or provide a new valid opt-in as permitted.
- Help: Reply HELP for help, email info@fathers4kids.com, or call (214) 953-2233 during FER business hours.
- Message and data rates may apply. Message delivery is subject to wireless-service and carrier availability and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Keep your number current and protect appointment links. Anyone with access to your phone may see appointment information. Do not reply with confidential case details, payment information, account passwords, Social Security numbers, medical records, or emergency information.
FER’s handling of mobile numbers and text consent is described in the Privacy Policy. FER may update this program or these terms and will post the revised date on this page. A material change does not replace any new consent required by law.
Intellectual property and availability
FER names, logos, original courses, text, audio, video, downloads, and other protected materials may be used only for personal, noncommercial purposes unless FER gives written permission. FER may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue website features, but will not intentionally remove rights that applicable law requires.
Disclaimers and applicable law
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and educational services are provided as available without a guarantee that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular legal matter or outcome. These terms are governed by applicable United States federal law and Texas law, without limiting consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Privacy, changes, and contact
The FER Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. FER may update these terms when services, providers, carrier requirements, or laws change and will post the revised date here. Continued use after an update means the new terms apply to later use; a material change does not retroactively alter a completed transaction where the law does not allow it. Read the Privacy Policy.
